
Ingredients for two Applestrudel
For the dough
250 g flour
250 g curd cheese
200 g butter
1 dash of salt
50 g sugar
1 packet of Vanilla sugar
½of a packet of baking powder
For the topping
1 kg appels
100 g Sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
juice of a citron
2cl of rum
about 100g breadcrumbs
1 egg yolk to cover the strudel before baking |
Applestrudel with a special curd cheese-short-dough
1. Wash, peel , and plane the apples into slices. Add cinnamon, rum, the juice of a citron, sugar and breadcrumbs, mix and leave brewing for a bit.
2. Prepare a short dough out of flour, curd, butter, salt, baking powder, vanilla sugar and half of the sugar. Roll out half of the dough not too thin, on a towel covered with flour.
3. Arrange half of the apples on the dough, fold the sides towards the middle and roll the strudel with the help of the towel. Place it on a greased baking tray or baking paper and cover it slightly with egg yolk. Place the second strudel next to the first one, cover ist as well with egg yolk and bake in the oven at 175 degrees for about 45min.
